AFCON 2027: Kenya Names Host Venues, Training Grounds

2027 Africa Cup of Nations co-host Kenya has officially unveiled the venues and training facilities that will be used for the continental football showpiece under the “Pamoja 2027” project, Be sports.com.ng reports.

The East African nation will stage matches at two main stadiums, with an additional alternative venue also confirmed for the competition.

The main venues selected by Kenya are Talanta Sports City, which has a planned capacity of 60,000 spectators, and Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani with a capacity of 48,000.

Nyayo National Stadium has also been listed as an alternative venue for the tournament.

Kenya further announced a number of training grounds that will be used by participating teams during the championship. 

These include Ulinzi Sports Complex, Police Sacco Grounds, Moi International Sports Centre Annex 1, Moi International Sports Centre Annex 2, Kenya Academy of Sports Ground 1, Kenya Academy of Sports Ground 2, Utalii College Grounds, Talanta Sports City Stadium 1 and Kirigiti Stadium

The 2027 AFCON will mark the first time the tournament will be jointly hosted by three East African nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda under the Pamoja 2027 initiative.
