AFCON 2027: Morocco And South Africa Ready To Step In As Co-Host

Sampson Adedeji

Morocco and South Africa have officially informed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that they are prepared to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) if the planned co-hosts Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are unable to complete preparations on time, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Both North and Southern African nations have assured CAF of their readiness, citing adequate stadiums, training facilities, and logistical infrastructure to accommodate the tournament.

CAF is reportedly monitoring the progress of the East African trio closely, with contingency plans in place to ensure the competition proceeds smoothly.

This proactive stance by Morocco and South Africa highlights CAF’s emphasis on ensuring a successful tournament, even amid uncertainties surrounding co-host readiness.
