Ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Togo Football Federation has appointed a new head coach for the Hawks of Togo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Togolese football body confirmed the appointment of experienced French tactician Patrice Neveu as the new handler of the national team as preparations begin for the qualification campaign.

Togo failed to qualify for the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Morocco, a setback the federation is determined to correct ahead of the 2027 tournament.

Neveu returns to the African football scene with vast experience, having previously managed national teams including Mauritania national football team, Guinea national football team, Haiti national football team and Gabon national football team.

The Frenchman is expected to immediately begin assessing the squad and mapping out strategies to ensure the Hawks secure a return to Africa’s premier football competition.

Further details regarding his contract duration and technical crew are expected to be announced by the federation in due course.
