The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a postponement of the decision regarding host nations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) editions from 2029 to 2035, following its most recent Executive Committee meeting, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to emerging reports, five bidding interests have officially been registered for the continental football showpiece.

These include Angola, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Senegal, alongside a joint bid from Mali and Guinea.

The CAF Executive Committee, however, stopped short of confirming any host nation, resolving to extend the evaluation period before awarding hosting rights.

The postponement indicates a competitive and closely contested process ahead, as participating countries continue to lobby for support and meet CAF infrastructure requirements.
