AFCON FINAL: Senegal Must Learn To Respect The Law — Moroccan FA President Heads To CAS

The Moroccan Football Federation has confirmed plans to approach the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following the controversy surrounding the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final involving Senegal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

With a decision from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the FIFA Integrity Unit still pending, Morocco’s FA President, Fouzi Lekja, stated that the federation would pursue legal redress in Switzerland irrespective of the outcome at the continental level.

According to Lekja, the move to CAS is necessary to ensure that football regulations and legal frameworks are upheld.

“We must appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland, regardless of the decision taken by CAF and the Integrity Unit of FIFA against Senegal,” Lekja said.

He further stressed that adherence to established rules remains non-negotiable in African football, adding that the Senegalese Football Federation must be held accountable.

“The Senegalese Football Federation must learn to respect the law,” he concluded.
