AFCON Final: “This Is A Blatant Injustice” – Barcelona President Hits Back At CAF

Following the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over the controversial final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations between Morocco and Senegal, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has strongly criticised the outcome, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Senegal were crowned champions after a final that has continued to generate widespread debate and controversy across Africa and beyond, with several stakeholders questioning the officiating and subsequent disciplinary rulings.

Reacting to the situation, Laporta described the treatment of host nation Morocco as unfair and unjust, insisting that the country had been wronged despite successfully organising the tournament.

“For a country that organised the best edition in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations to be punished, then have the title stolen from it, and be attacked from all over Africa, this is a blatant injustice against Morocco,” Laporta said.

The CAF Disciplinary Committee’s ruling has further intensified reactions from fans, officials and football stakeholders, as calls grow for greater transparency and accountability in the handling of the AFCON final and its aftermath.
