AFCON Final: CAF Set To Overturn Disciplinary Committee Decision

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to review and potentially overturn the decision taken by its disciplinary committee concerning the Morocco versus Senegal match in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, CAF’s appeals committee has agreed to reopen the case and reassess the circumstances surrounding the controversial encounter between Morocco and Senegal.

The committee has requested the concerned football federation to submit new legal arguments to support its appeal as part of the review process.

CAF also confirmed that an inquiry has been launched into certain decisions taken during the match, particularly those related to the refereeing which have generated widespread debate.

The matter is expected to be discussed in detail at the next meeting of the appeals committee, where a final determination on the disciplinary committee’s ruling could be made.
