The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has escalated its response in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations final controversy by appointing Swiss-based legal firm Libra Law to handle its case, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Leading the legal team is Jorge Esteban Ibarrola, a respected specialist in sports law and a former advisor to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, signaling Morocco’s intent to pursue the matter at the highest legal level.

The dispute follows a dramatic decision by the Confederation of African Football Appeal Committee, which overturned Senegal’s AFCON triumph and reassigned the title to Morocco.

The ruling has sparked widespread controversy across the footballing landscape, with questions raised over the legal and procedural basis of the decision.

Morocco’s move to engage top-tier legal expertise underscores the seriousness of the case and suggests that further proceedings potentially at CAS could be imminent.
