Senegal have taken a decisive step in the ongoing AFCON final controversy by securing the services of renowned sports lawyer Serge Vittoz, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The highly respected legal expert is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in sports law, with vast experience handling disputes related to football and major international competitions. 

Notably, Vittoz boasts an impressive record at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), where he is reputed to have won every case he has argued.

His appointment is seen as a major boost for Senegal as the West African nation intensifies efforts to navigate the legal complexities surrounding the AFCON final saga.

Vittoz is no stranger to Senegal’s football disputes, having previously been part of the country’s legal team during the 2017 case against South Africa. 

That case, which was adjudicated by FIFA and later resolved at CAS, ended in Senegal’s favour after the initial result was annulled and a replay ordered.
