The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has requested the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to reschedule the match against Egypt to a later time in the evening following Zebras’ travel predicament. The AFCON qualifier with Egypt was scheduled to kick off at 3 pm Tuesday at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown. According to the statement from the association, the Zebras encountered logistical issues, resulting in delays from Mauritania. They were scheduled to arrive in Botswana on Sunday night but encountered unforeseen complications. Meanwhile, Egypt has already arrived in the country for the encounter.
