AFCON Qualifiers: Injured Ekong And Bonke Return To Europe For Further Treatment

Super Eagles vice captain, William Troost Ekong and his teammate Innocent Bonke have returned to their base in Europe for further treatment, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The duo were ruled out of the clash against São Tomé due to injury they sustained while in active duty for Nigeria.
Bonke was injured in the friendly game against Mexico in Dallas on 28th May, while Ekong suffered a groin strain in the 2-1 defeat of Sierra Leone in Abuja last Thursday.
Our source, Olawale Quadry, who was part of the Nigerian contingent that arrived Morocco on Sunday morning informed that, "Ekong and Bonke returned to England and France respectively for further treatment."
The duo will be closely monitored by the medical team of their clubs Watford and Lorient.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football, CAF has appointed Liberian official Hassen Zinnah Corneh as referee for the encounter, with his compatriots Joel Wonka Doe, Ephraim Grant Whengar and Moses Forkpah as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2 and fourth official respectively.
Alim Konate Aboubakar from Cameroon will be match commissioner. The match starts at 1pm Morocco time.
However, Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi and 23 other Super Eagles will train by 4pm in Agadir Stadium, venue for the match against São Tomé.
