Captain of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, Daniel Bameyi, has shared his thoughts following their hard-fought draw against Morocco in the second group stage match of the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The match saw the Nigerian side play out a stalemate with the Junior Atlas Lions, keeping both teams in contention for a spot in the next round.

Speaking after the game, the Bayelsa United defender commended both the Moroccan team and his teammates for their effort and determination.

“It was a good one. Respect to the opponent and my teammates. It was an intense game because we both knew what was at stake,” Bameyi said.

He also acknowledged the Flying Eagles' coaching staff for their preparation and tactical approach.

“Kudos to our coaches. They had the opportunity to analyze our opponents, and we executed some of those tactical plans on the pitch. It worked out well, and we thank God for that,” he added.

Nigeria is set to take on Kenya in their final group game on Wednesday, with qualification hopes still alive.
