AFCON U20: Egypt To Play Ghana Again, Others For Nigeria -Jaber

Mahmoud Jaber, coach of Egypt Young Pharaohs has informed that his team will tackle Ghana again and other tune-up games for Nigeria, as it looks forward to starting their last camping phase at the end of January, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The Young Pharaohs earned accolades from Jaber despite the 2-0 loss to the Ghana Black Galaxies at the Cairo Stadium.

Recall the draw for the U-20 African Cup of Nations resulted in Egypt falling into Group A, which includes Mozambique, Senegal and Nigeria.

Egypt hosts the African Nations Cup, which is held at three stadiums in Cairo and Alexandria, and the Suez Canal Authority in Ismailia.

Jaber said on Ten Channel: "We played a match against Ghana's first national team, and there is a big difference in everything between us and them, from experience, speed, and physical strength, and we played a very good match, and I did not imagine that we would match them, and the players made a double effort."

He added, "They scored a goal in the first quarter of an hour and had one chance throughout the match, and the second goal came from a mistake."

"We missed real chances, a ball hit the crossbar in the first half, and in the second half a ball bounced off the post, and our attackers did not succeed in scoring with more than one opportunity."

"We have achieved a very important benefit in all respects from this meeting," he added.

And he continued, "We will play friendly matches in the coming period, and we may repeat the same friendly match with Ghana within days, and after the end of the current camp, we will start the last camp at the end of January in preparation for the tournament."

Janet said further, "We are constantly communicating with professional players, and things are going very well. We have 6 players who are constantly participating in the Premier League, and there is a group that is training with the first team."

Regarding the tournament, he answered, "The strongest names in the tournament are in our group. I hope that the stadium will be filled with fans, as happened in the Arab Championship before in Saudi Arabia, which helped us."

He concluded, "We are playing all friendly matches in Cairo Stadium, and there is interest from officials, and Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, attended the first half of the match."
