AFCON U20: Flying Eagles Duo Named In Group Stage Best XI

Flying Eagles defenders Daniel Bameyi and Odinaka Okoro have been named in the official Best XI of the group stage at the ongoing 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The selection was made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) technical study group.

Centre-back and team captain Bameyi has been one of Nigeria’s standout players in the tournament so far, earning the Man of the Match award in the goalless draw against Morocco.

Left-back Okoro has also impressed with his solid defensive work and attacking contributions, including an assist already in the competition.

 Nigeria will face Senegal in the quarter-finals on Monday at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.
