The 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations kicks off this Sunday in Egypt, with 13 nations battling for the coveted trophy, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, the most successful team in the tournament’s history, will be aiming to clinch a record-extending eighth title.
Aliyu Zubairu’s side has been drawn into Group B alongside Tunisia, Morocco, and Kenya.
The Flying Eagles will open their campaign next Thursday against Tunisia at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo.
Hosts Egypt will get the tournament underway against South Africa’s Amajita at the Cairo International Stadium in the opening match.
In another Group A encounter on Sunday, Zambia will face tournament debutants Sierra Leone in Ismailia.
The top four teams will also qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled to take place later this year in Chile.
