Kenya’s Rising Stars made a strong statement ahead of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, battling to an impressive 2-2 draw against tournament favourites Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The friendly encounter served as a key warm-up for both sides as they gear up for the tournament, which kicks off on Sunday, April 27, and runs until May 18, 2025.

Dreams FC forward Abdul Aziz Musibau fired Ghana’s Black Satellites ahead with a first-half brace.

However, Kenya hit back through Hassan Beja and Lawrence Ouma, ensuring the match ended level before halftime.

Tournament debutants Kenya are drawn in Group B alongside Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, Tunisia, and Morocco. Ghana, meanwhile, will compete in Group C with defending champions Senegal, Central African Republic (CAR), and DR Congo.

Kenya is set to face the Flying Eagles in their final group match on May 7 in Cairo.
