AFCON Update: I Will Support Nwabali If Chosen – Uzoho
Sampson Adedeji
Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has reiterated his commitment to team unity, stating that he will fully support Stanley Nwabali if the latter is selected to start in goal against Tanzania, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria face the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in their next Group match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with competition still keen for the goalkeeper’s position.
Uzoho, who is currently based in Cyprus, recently returned to the Super Eagles squad after almost a year away and made it clear that personal ambition will not come ahead of the team’s objectives.
“When Nwabali was chosen to be first choice, I had to support him. That is what I will do if he’s still the one that will play,” Uzoho told Elegbete TV.
Stanley Nwabali has impressed in recent outings for the Super Eagles, earning praise for his composure and consistency, while Uzoho’s comments underline the spirit of togetherness within the squad as Nigeria continue their AFCON 2025 campaign
