Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has reiterated his readiness to play in any position for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Awaziem, who is naturally a centre-back, is known for his versatility and has featured in different defensive roles for both club and country.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, the former FC Porto defender made it clear that he is willing to serve the team wherever the coaching crew needs him.

“I’ve played different positions in the backline. It all depends on the coach’s structure and where he wants me to perform,” Awaziem said while speaking with Elegbete TV.

“My job is to go there and do my best. I try to do everything possible to help the team and also help myself. If the coach wants me to be a goalkeeper, I’m ready. If he wants me to be a striker, I’m ready,” he added.

Despite his flexibility, the defender admitted that his preferred role remains at the heart of defence.

“My preferred position right now, as I’m speaking to you, is centre-back. I would prefer to remain in that position, but whatever the coach decides, I’m fully ready,” Awaziem concludes.

The Super Eagles are currently preparing for the AFCON campaign in Morocco, with players expected to give their all as Nigeria targets continental glory.
