AFCON Update: We Will Take Nigeria Game Very Serious – Tunisia Star
Sampson Adedeji
As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco draws closer, Tunisia midfielder Yassine Meriah has issued a strong warning to Nigeria and the other teams in their group, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Carthage Eagles have been drawn in Group B alongside Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania, setting up what promises to be a highly competitive group stage.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Meriah emphasized that Tunisia will approach every fixture with maximum focus, stressing that the encounter against Nigeria will be treated with utmost seriousness as they chase continental glory.
“We will take every match seriously. Our main objective is to bring home the title and make the Tunisian people proud,” Meriah said.
Tunisia, four-time AFCON finalists, last lifted the prestigious trophy in 2004 when they hosted the competition.
The North African side will be hoping to end their long wait for another continental crown when the tournament kicks off in Morocco.
