Lagos State Football Association under the leadership of the Chairman, Alhaji Gafar Liameed has continued to set new standards, after the LSFA Congress approved the sum of ₦3.6 Billion Naira for the State's 2024/2025 Football season, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

In what has never been seen in the history of State Football Associations in Nigeria, the story of the Annual General Assembly of the Lagos State Football Association dominated the front page of the Monday 23rd of September 2024 edition of one of Nigeria's foremost dailies, the Punch Newspapers.

Liameed maintained that with the new approved budget, it means there will be total Grassroot Development, Referees Education and Coaching Education in the State. According to him, " For us in Lagos, Football is a Media event and we are very big on Transparency and Trust in everything we are doing". "We understand the role of Corporate Nigeria in Sports Development and the only way they can come and partner with what we are doing is when they see that we are serious and trust worthy". "Football Growth is about Grassroot Development and there cannot be effective Development if you don't have events effective programmes, and in Lagos we are very passionate about building the next generation of Nigeria Football talents", he added. The Lagos State Football Association has about Nineteen competitions to execute with each event having a budget of One Hundred Million Naira to carried out.  Some of the Competitions include, the Lagos Federations Cup, Lagos State Football League, Ibile Cup, Lagos Youth League, Freshers Cup, Lagos State Queens Championship, Oba's Cup, Lagos Beach Soccer Cup and Principal's Cup just to mention a few .
