AKY-The Game Changer Football Scouting Project: Magic Stars President Hails Kano Govt

President of Lagos-based Magic Stars, Kayode Akanji Agboola, also known as Alpha Kay, and his Romanian Chief Football Scout/Partner, Bogdan Costicea, were key facilitators at the AKY-The Game Changer Football Scouting Project, which ended in Kano, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The three-day program packaged by Abdul Gafar Oladimeji, through the Office Of The Special Adviser to the Governor, in Collaboration With Sports Without Borders and Nigerian Football Coaches Association, Kano State Chapter.

AKY-The Game Changer Football Scouting Project, with the theme, Discovering Talent, Building Champions, Changing Lives, drew over 1,000 emerging football talents in and outside Kano metropolis.

Agboola, speaking at the end of the programme, said: "It's amazing what the Kano State Government is doing at grassroot football level. They are keeping the youths busy with different programmes, which translates to human capital development, as the sport is big business.

"Kano is a major football hub in Nigeria; the emerging talents we saw during the programme were passionate and showed a lot of enthusiasm in the different sessions we had.

However, Agboola stressed the importance of enhancing Coaches' Education.

 "It's a vital ingredient needed for the developmental purposes of these talents, as football at youth level has evolved a lot. So instead of playing catch-up, our grassroot coaches need to learn these new skills."
