The Super Eagles of Nigeria booked their place in the final of the 2025 Unity Cup with a confident 2–1 victory over regional rivals Ghana at the GTech Community Stadium in London, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a composed finish after a flowing attacking move. Nigeria soon doubled their advantage when sustained pressure forced Ghana’s Razak Simpson into scoring an own goal. Although the Black Stars managed to pull one back in the second half, Nigeria held firm to secure a well-earned spot in the tournament’s final.
Beyond the action on the pitch, the win was underscored by a powerful display of patriotism and support in the stands, led by the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC). The group transformed the stadium into a vibrant arena of Nigerian pride, with traditional drums, colourful attire, and energetic chants that echoed throughout the match.
From kick-off to the final whistle, ANFASSC members uplifted the atmosphere, turning the GTech Stadium into a home away from home for the Super Eagles. Their passion and coordinated support provided an emotional boost for the players and left an unforgettable impression on international spectators.
Speaking after the match, ANFASSC National President Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi commended both the team and the supporters for their unity and commitment.
“It was a match for the history books. Our boys delivered on the pitch, and our members gave everything in the stands. This is the power of unity, passion, and patriotism,” he stated.
With this victory, Nigeria now prepares to face Jamaica in the final of the 2025 Unity Cup. As always, ANFASSC remains steadfast in its mission to rally behind the Super Eagles — not just as fans, but as a living symbol of national pride and unity.
