AWBL: It Will be Tough for Nigeria Customs Against Inter Clube- Abdulrahman

Coach Mohammed Abdulrahman of Nigeria Customs says the quarter-final clash with Inter Clube of Angola at the ongoing Africa Women's Basketball League, AWBL, will be a tough game for his team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian champions picked a hard-fought 66-57 win over DR Congo's CNSS in their final Group A match to finish in third place ahead of the quarter-finals with their Angolan counterparts.

The tactician admits that his team isn't ready for the challenge expected in the next stage adding that teams have identified their weak point in the competition.

He said: "We are here to learn and to compete and our ability to do that has paid off with the two wins. We played our qualifiers late and did not have time to work on areas that needed adjusting so we have been doing that as we go.

"Teams have identified that we are struggling with pressure defence and they come out and make it hard on us to play. The competition is getting tougher and we expect more of this. We are trying hard to contain this pressure and are struggling to even get the ball past the half-court and that is a big concern.

"It will be tough on us. The thought of facing Inter Clube is giving me jitters but miracles do happen so we will keep the belief."
