Comorian tactician Abdou Amir has been appointed as the new head coach of the Burkina Faso national football team, also known as the Stallions, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The announcement marks a new chapter for the West African side as they intensify preparations for upcoming continental engagements.

Amir, who previously managed the Comoros national football team and the Mauritania national football team, brings a wealth of experience at international level.

The Comorian coach is expected to inject fresh ideas and tactical discipline into the Stallions as he takes over the reins.

His immediate mandate will be to rebuild and strengthen the squad, with the primary objective of securing qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Burkina Faso have remained a competitive force in African football in recent years, but the federation is keen to restore consistency and return the team to strong continental contention under Amir’s leadership.
