Abdul Maikaba Resigns As Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser, Citing Disunity and Safety Threats

Wikki Tourists FC Technical Adviser, Abdul Maikaba, has resigned from his position with immediate effect, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a resignation letter dated February 9, 2026, and addressed to the club’s chairman, Maikaba attributed his decision to persistent internal disunity among key stakeholders and serious concerns over his personal safety.

The experienced coach noted that ongoing divisions within the club’s structure had hindered efforts to effectively pursue the team’s objectives. He further disclosed that he had received several threats to his life, both physically and through social media platforms, prompting him to take the decision after consultations with his family.

Despite the circumstances surrounding his exit, Maikaba expressed appreciation to the management of Wikki Tourists for the opportunity to serve the Bauchi-based club.

His departure comes at a critical stage of the season, raising uncertainty over the club’s immediate technical direction and who will assume responsibility for the team moving forward.
