Abeokuta 2025: Clement, Ademola Named Team Nigeria Captains

Team Nigeria has officially named Honourable Victor Clement and Temitope Ademola as captains of the boys’ and girls’ squads ahead of the 3rd Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U-18/U-20 Championships, set to begin on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The 92-member squad was unveiled Tuesday evening at the MKO Abiola Stadium by the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Tonobok Okowa, alongside the federation’s Technical Director, Gabriel Okon.

Following a rigorous two-week training camp, the team comprising 51 boys and 41 girls moved into the Games Village on Monday in preparation for the continental event.

According to the breakdown, 23 boys and 17 girls will represent Nigeria in the U-18 category, while 29 boys and 24 girls will compete in the U-20 division.

In the U-18 category, the boys will participate in 17 events, as will the girls, while in the U-20 class, the boys are set for 19 events and the girls for 18 events.
