The highly anticipated event is set to take place from July 16 to 20, 2025, at the newly renovated MKO Abiola International Stadium.

Over 50 African nations are expected to converge on the city for what promises to be a thrilling showcase of emerging athletic talent—featuring the continent’s next generation of track and field stars.

With national delegations scheduled to begin arriving from July 12, the atmosphere in Abeokuta is already buzzing with anticipation. The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has officially endorsed the championship’s organization and infrastructure, declaring the host city fully prepared to deliver a world-class sporting spectacle. “Abeokuta has met all the required standards,” the CAA noted in a recent statement. “The facilities are not only certified but reflect Nigeria’s growing commitment to nurturing young athletic talent on the continent.”

Many of Nigeria’s greatest track legends—Falilat Ogunkoya, Mary Onyali, Olusoji Fasuba, Deji Aliyu, and Yusuf Alli—began their journeys on similar junior stages before rising to international acclaim.
