Police Confirm Death Of Nigerian Footballer

The death of one Adeyemi Adewale has been confirmed by the Osun State Police Command, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, the deceased, who was involved in a football tournament in Osogbo, the State capital, allegedly collapsed on the field and was taken to a hospital, where the doctor confirmed his death.

According to the spokesperson for the Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, the incident occurred on Thursday in Osogbo.

 “Today, (Thursday) during the Adeleke Memorial Cup Final match being held at Ataoja School of Science, a player named Adeyemi Adewale, 29 years old, from the Ilesa West Football team, collapsed on the field.

"He was taken to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, where a doctor later confirmed his death,” Opalola added that an investigation has begun regarding the incident.
