Super Eagles held their third training session ahead of their 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Wednesday without forward, Ademola Lookman, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

He was excused from the training session while 22 other players involved in the training where all the departments in play were well represented; three goalkeepers, eight defenders five midfielders and six attackers. The reason for Lookman exclusion was not revealed to this tabloid.

Preparations for the Matchday 5 of 2023 African Nations Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Sierra Leone continues on Wednesday, with Eagles coach Jose Peseiro stating that he is satisfied with the level of fitness of the players.

Nigeria need a draw or win in Liberia to qualify for the 2024 African Nations Cup to be hosted by Cote d'Ivoire in January next year. On Wednesday, Guinea Bissau leapfrogged Nigeria at the top of group A table with one point having garnered 10 points from 5 matches. Super Eagles having played four matches have 9 points. The three times African champions will trade tackle with Sierra Leone on Sunday in Liberia.
