Adewale Babes Lift SKODA/IFC Women's League Title

A sublime first-half brace from Wuraola Olayiwola shot Adewale Babes Women Football Club to victory in the SKODA/IFC Women's Football League on Wednesday in Ibadan, defeating Oluyole Flaming Queens 2-1 at the Olubadan Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

This win marked a sweet revenge for Adewale Babes, who lost to the same team in the competition's maiden edition last year. Hawawu Hassan scored the lone goal for the Oluyole Flaming Queens. Earlier in the day, Apex Angels secured third place by defeating Lagelu Notable SS 1-0, courtesy of Islamiyat Yusuf's goal. Adewale Babes' coach, Olajide Olorunsogo, expressed relief at winning the title after last year's loss. "We've played in three finals of different competitions and won all. My players tried their best, and I'm impressed by their performance," he said. Olorunsogo attributed their success to his players' top form this year, noting that most of them are young and in secondary school. The winners received N200,000, while the second-placed team got N150,000 and the third-placed team received N75,000.
