The Oche Awodi Foundation has keyed into the Ministry of Sports Adopt-A-Pitch initiative and set to refurbish the pitch of FIFA Goal-Project inside Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, BSN sports.com.ng can report.

The non-profit organization on Monday got the go-ahead of the ministry to refurbish the pitch.

This was revealed by the CEO of Oche Awodi Foundation, Kingsley James Awodi while addressing the media at the Conference hall of the office of the Minister.

"We have keyed into the Adopt-A-Pitch initiative of the Ministry of Sports. The pitch has been handed to us to make it better than what it was when it was new.

"Will we start refurbishing of the pitch when the Nigeria U17 who are presently training there go on election break. We have only four weeks to return the pitch back to what it was." He concluded.

He added that the result of examination carried out on the pitch by professionals will determine whether it will be replaced with synthetic or grass. He said the foundation will continue to maintain the pitch depending on the agreement between the two parties.
