The journey to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco officially begins this October as the continental qualifiers get underway, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

 National teams from across Africa will compete in two-legged knockout ties, with winners securing their places at the prestigious final tournament.

The first round of qualifiers features the following confirmed fixtures:

Angola vs Malawi 

Congo vs South Africa 

Tanzania vs Ethiopia 

Namibia vs Zambia 

Burkina Faso vs Togo 

Algeria vs Cameroon 

Egypt vs Ghana 

Kenya vs Gambia 

Benin vs Nigeria 

Cape Verde vs Mali 

Senegal vs Côte d’Ivoire 

These fixtures mark the opening phase of what promises to be a fiercely competitive qualification campaign. Teams will face off in home-and-away matches, with aggregate winners advancing to the WAFCON finals, which also serve as Africa’s qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
