Chelsea's season in England and Europe has been nothing to write home about this season from falling off the top half of the Premier League (11th) with a negative goal difference (-3), to exiting all domestic cup competitions including Europe (UCL), BSNSports.com.ng writes.

It is becoming glaring that the Blues will take no part in European football till the 2024-25 season if nothing dramatic happens within the next seven league games remaining in the campaign. 

Former Blue's striker and legend who had two successful stints with the English club (2004 - 2012; 2014/2015) held no prisoners in his scathing remarks on the club's form and performance thus far while covering the game for French TV channel Canal+. 

“I don’t recognize my club. It’s no longer the same club. There is a new owner and a new vision. Of course, we try to compare it with what happened during the [Roman] Abramovich era where a lot of players were brought in, but the decisions were very intelligent.

“Bringing in players like Petr Cech, Andriy Shevchenko, Herman Crespo, Michael Essien, myself, Florent Malouda, and I go on. It was done to win titles. They are players with a certain experience. The strategy is now different; we bet on young players. But a dressing room of over 30 players is difficult [to manage] for a manager.”

Current Interim Manager of Chelsea, Lampard did not want to get roped into the exchange of words and preferred to deflect by stating "They're Didier's comments, sorry,". 

Lampard who has lost his first four games so far in all competitions, has the likes of Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley as co-sporting directors and Christopher Vivell as technical director, all as backroom staff, with hopes of any form of resolution subsequently. 

That was not the end of scathing remarks on Chelsea as Center Defender and captain Thiago Silva also had his share of expression, which showed so much gloom in his mood. 

"It has been a very difficult season and very frustrating for me in the Champions League. I have only one year on my contract, and my contract is reaching its end. 

"Everybody talks too much about changing managers, but I think we the players must also take responsibility. 

"We have had three managers this season, plus a fourth one Bruno. Bruno failed to win, we lost today, and with Lampard, we have also failed to win. "Everybody is talking about the manager, but we must look at what has been done wrong and try to change."

Chelsea's next game will be to host Brentford at Stamford Bridge, a venue they've drawn five and lost five out of 16 games this season in the league, hoping to at least score a goal following a stalemate in the reverse fixture back in October against the Bees (0-0).
