African Athletics Championship: Amusan Wins Gold, Adaobi Claims Bronze For Nigeria

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan stormed to gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the African Athletics Championships in Ghana, extending her impressive medal record at the continental competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The victory also handed Team Nigeria its first gold medal of the championship.

Amusan, the reigning world record holder, delivered a dominant performance in the final to finish ahead of the field and reaffirm her status as one of Africa’s leading track stars.

Compatriot Adaobi Tabugbo also impressed in the event, producing a strong start and holding her own in a competitive race to secure the bronze medal for Nigeria.

The double podium finish further boosted Nigeria’s outing at the championships as the athletics team continues its campaign in Ghana.
