African Championship: Nigeria Topple Algeria Again

Sampson Adedeji

Nigeria continued their dominance over Algeria in African handball competition after recording another hard-fought victory over the North Africans, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian national handball team defeated Algeria 25–23 in their opening match of the African Handball Championship, extending their recent superiority over the North African side.

The encounter was keenly contested, with both teams showing intensity and tactical discipline, but Nigeria displayed greater composure in crucial moments to edge the narrow win.

This latest result further underlines Nigeria’s growing strength in continental handball and provides a positive start to their campaign in the championship as they target a deep run in the tournament.

Nigeria will look to build on this momentum when they face their next opponents in the group stage, while Algeria will seek a quick response to revive their hopes in the competition.
