Nigerian representatives Vipers began their campaign at the ongoing African Club Volleyball Championship on a disappointing note, suffering a 3-1 defeat to Cameroonian side Letto on Monday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Vipers struggled to find their rhythm early in the encounter, conceding the first set heavily at 25-6.

They showed some improvement in the second set but were narrowly beaten 25-22.

The Nigerian side bounced back in the third set with a spirited performance to claim a 25-19 victory, raising hopes of a comeback.

However, Letto regained control in the fourth set, dominating proceedings to seal the match with a 25-13 win.

Vipers will now look to recover from the setback as they prepare for their next fixture in the competition against Arsu of Seychelles
