African Football League Kicks-off In Tanzania, As Enyimba Participation Doubtful

African Soccer ruling body on Thursday announced the date and venue for the maiden edition of the African Football League competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The competition was initially fixed to start in August but has to be postponed due to logistics.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino made the official announcement of the kick-off date and venue during the 45th Congress of the body in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

October 20th was announced as the date and Tanzania was also picked as the host venue for the opening game.

Meanwhile, the participation of the Nigeria champion Enyimba International in the competition remained doubtful as they are not among the 8 teams listed for the competition this year.

The teams listed are Al Ahly (Egypt), ES Tunis (Tunisia) Wydad (Morocco) TP Mazembe( DR Congo) Simba (Tanzania) Petro Luanda (Angola) Mamelodi Sundown (South Africa) and Horoya (Guinea).
