The 2022 edition of the U19 African Women Volleyball championship started on Friday at the MKO Abiola Stadium and it was a day to forget for host Nigeria, BSNsports.com.ng reports.
The opening game involved host Nigeria and defending champions Cameroon and it was the latter that carried the day.
The Nigerian side started the game like a house on fire and defeated the Cameroonians in the first set 29-27.
The champions took over the game from the 2nd set and dominated to win 25-20 and also won the 3rd set 25-14.
They wrapped up the game in the 4th set 25-20 and secured a comfortable 1-4 win.
