The not-too-impressive performance of Nigeria U19 women's team in the ongoing African Volleyball Championship continued on Saturday evening as they suffered another defeat, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

The competition started on Friday and defending champions Cameroon got the better of the Nigerian team in the opening game.

Nigeria faced Egypt in their second match and it was a whitewash for them as they suffered a 0-3 straight defeat.

They up their game and played well in the first set but the Egyptians narrowly prevailed 22-25 and also won the second set with a wide margin of 14-25.

The host tried to come back in the 3rd set but the North Africans maintained their dominance to win 22-25.

It means the Nigerian team has now suffered two consecutive defeats in the championship going on at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja.
