Nigeria senior women's volleyball team started their campaign in the 2023 African Volleyball Championship in Cameroon on a strong note after securing a comprehensive win against Mali, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Samuel Ajayi tutored team started the game against their West Africa neighbour on a very slow pace but rallied back to win the first quarter 25-18.

The double introduction of Happy Wushilang and Sandra Ozabor swung the game in favour of Nigeria in the second set with a 25-14 win.

The Nigerian side wrapped up the game 3-0 in the final quarter with another 25-20 victory.

They will hope to continue their impressive performances when they face the host Cameroon on Thursday evening in Yaounde.
