The Head Coach of Future Eagles, Patrick Bassey has stated that the U15 national team will not be dumped but graduate to U16 and U17 with special programmes underway, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Future Eagles just last week returned from their first training tour of Morocco where they played two friendly matches with the Moroccan U16 national team. Morocco were the better side in the first leg winning 2-0 before a 85th minute penalty saved the hosts from losing the second leg to the young boys of Nigeria. The match ended 1-1.

Reacting, Patrick Bassey explained that the boys who were scouted across Nigeria earlier this year will become U16 in 2025 and will be invited for the Japan Invitational tournament which is expected to come up in June , 2025.

Speaking exclusively to www.bsnsports.com.ng, Bassey said, "You know we have the male U15 and the U16. The U16 are the ones that are always going to Japan for the invitational tournament in Japan and I think these ones are supposed to graduate from the U15 to U16 of the national team of Nigeria. Mostly Japan is always around June/July.

"So, we are expecting and if there is any invitational that come up I think they would be part of it." I also expect the majority of these boys to be in the next Nigeria U17 team because we have already completed laying the foundation of the team. He concluded.
