Again, Team Delta Emerges Champions Of National Sports Festival

Team Delta has been officially confirmed as champions of the 22nd National Sports Festival, Gateway Games Ogun 2024, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The final medal standing was officially released by the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the Gateway Games Ogun 2024.

Team Delta continued its dominance as Nigeria’s undisputed sporting powerhouse with a massive haul of 126 gold, 100 silver, and 111 bronze.

They are followed by the host state, Team Ogun, who won 93 gold, 65 silver and 80 bronze medals, while Team Bayelsa came third with 92 gold, 65 silver and 71 bronze medals.

Team Rivers are in 4th spot after collecting 76 gold, 58 silver and 65 bronze medals while Team Edo finished in 5th place after picking 73 gold, 101 silver and 119 bronze medals.

Four-time winners Team Lagos is in 6th spot after gathering 38 gold, 43 silver and 88 bronze medals, followed by Team Oyo who have 38 gold, 37 silver and 51 bronze medals, while Team FCT placed 8th after claiming 14 gold, 8 silver and 17 bronze medals.

Team Osun is placed 9th after picking 13 gold, 3 silver and 11 bronze medals with Team Akwa Ibom completing the top ten after collecting 12 gold, 11 silver and 20 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the next edition of the National Sports Festival will be held in Enugu next year.
