The Ibadan soccer lords kick off the second round with an away tie to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

In a chat with Shooting Stars Media, ahead of the Matchday 10 fixture, which signals the resumption of the 2022/23 season, the centre-back, expressed optimism that the best of the Oluyole Warriors would be seen in the final phase of the season.

"It is going to be a different ball game in this round, our teeming supporters and fans should believe in us and we will never let them down", said the Ghanaian born defender.

He added. "We had it rough in the first round, but we will never allow that to affect us in the second round and I believe we have what it takes for a change of fortune based on our preparations so far.

"People should not write us off based on our first round performance. I could remember when I was with Ashanti Gold, we did not do well in the first round but we came back strongly in the second and we ended on a positive note, who says it cannot happen with Shooting Stars."

The Ghanaian import, who won the 2021/22 league title with Rivers United, hinged his optimism on the expertise of the Gbenga Ogunbote led technical crew and the determination of the players to turn things around.

Meanwhile, the Ibadan soccer lords arrived in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital on Friday night, beaming with confidence ahead of Sunday's clash against the Promise Keepers.
