Former Nigeria's Super Eagle winger Julius Efosa Aghahowa has said present-day Super Eagles players must fight to regain their fighting spirit, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 3-time African champions have been having it rough recently and have had to postpone their 2023 African Cup of Nations qualification after suffering a 0-1 home defeat to Guinea Bissau.

While speaking to the Guardian correspondent, Aghahowa said lack of fighting spirit is what is driving the team backward.

“The Super Eagles of today have great players, but something is missing. That fighting spirit in the attack is no longer there, and there is an urgent need for the team to have it back again to return to winning ways,” he said.

Aghahowa attended 4 AFCONs and 1 World Cup for Nigeria.
