Agoye Rues Two Points Loss, After Sunshine Stars Draw With Heartland
By Emmanuel Chinedu
Sunshine Stars head coach, Edith Agoye has expressed reasons which denied his team the three points against Heartland on Saturday, in a Matchday 3 encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Akure Gunners took the lead early in the game, through Michael Olalusi, before Patrick Nwogbara levelled it 1-1 for the Naze Millionaires, at the Ondo Sports Complex Stadium.
While speaking with Sunshine Stars FC Media, after the encounter, Agoye, expressed that it was lack of concentration that affected the team.
“If the goal was a mistake from the goalkeeper, where was the defence, yes he made a mistake and there should have been a cover for him, we can’t blame him, we win together and lose together,†Agoye said.
"The game was two points loss, we will continue to work in the training ground and hopefully the results will start coming."
The former Shooting Stars gaffer also revealed that they were unable to convert the chances they created in the game.
“When you have the opportunity, it’s better to capitalise on it, we were very good in the first half with many goal scoring chances created ,we would have scored more goals than the one we scored in the first half."
“In the second half, we got punished for it, we learn from what happened and take positive from it and move on," he concluded.
