Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has confirmed that Super Eagles defender Ola Aina is in contention to return to action ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa this weekend, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian international has been sidelined for several months due to injury, a setback that also ruled him out of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
However, speaking ahead of the weekend fixture, Dyche revealed on Friday that Aina has made good progress in training and has rejoined the squad, boosting Forest’s defensive options.
“Obviously Ola (Aina) comes back into the group, which is good,” Dyche said.
“He has put a lot of miles on the clock on the training ground, not so many game hours because of the situation. But his injury is fine, he feels fine, and he is back into the group.”
Aina’s potential return will come as a significant lift for Nottingham Forest as they look to secure a positive result against Aston Villa, while Nigerian fans will also be encouraged by the defender’s recovery ahead of future international engagements.
