Ola Aina has added a touch of flair to his AFCON preparations, revealing a limited-edition football boot that celebrates both his heritage and a personal milestone, even as he works his way back from injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nottingham Forest fullback partnered with eco-focused brand Sokito to produce the custom-made ‘Mr Lulu’ boot, a nod to his long-time nickname. Washed in a light green shade that echoes Nigeria’s football identity, the design blends cultural motifs such as hand-drawn wings, leafy patterns and an outline of the African continent.
The boot carries the ‘Mr Lulu’ insignia on the insole and outer side, and features a 100 per cent knit tongue for extra comfort. True to Sokito’s sustainability ethos, it is built largely from plant-based materials including bamboo, corn waste, castor beans and recycled plastic.
Only 1,000 pairs of the Sokito Scudetta ‘Mr Lulu’ will be made available when sales go live online on December 5, wrapping up an 18-month development journey.
Aina’s creative project arrives during an uncertain period regarding his fitness. The defender has been out since suffering a hamstring injury just minutes into Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa in September, leaving Forest and Super Eagles fans waiting to see whether he will be fully ready for the continental showpiece.
