Aiteo Cup: Nigerian Army Team Bundles Out Bayelsa United

Nigeria FA Cup otherwise known as Aiteo Cup is gradually living up to expectations as another shocker was recorded in the Round of 32 games played on Wednesday, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

In the Round of 64, Ottasolo sent out Nigeria Professional Football League club Abia Warrior, beating them 2-1.

Another shocking result was recorded on Wednesday as cup holders Bayelsa United were sent packing.

Bayelsa United campaigning in the Nigeria National League (NNL) surprised bookmakers last season by winning the Aiteo Cup and edging NPFL club Nasarawa United in the final.

Their hope of defending the cup was shattered as they were defeated by the Nigerian Army team, Green Berets via a penalty shootout at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus Pitch.

The duration of the game ended goalless draw but it was Green Berets that progressed to the next round 5-4 on penalties.
