Following his recent move to Hull City, Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has expressed his determination to make a strong impact at the Championship side, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ajayi penned a two-year deal with the Tigers on Thursday, with an option for an additional year. The former West Bromwich Albion star is already looking forward to contributing meaningfully to the club’s ambitions.
“I’m really excited,” Ajayi said. “I spoke to the sporting director, Jared Dublin, and the head of recruitment, Martin Hodge, and they sold me on the club’s vision and plans for the season."
“The club wants to push for promotion, and that aligns with my own goals. Once I heard about the project, I couldn’t wait to be part of it.”
Ajayi, who brings a wealth of experience from his time in the Championship, believes he has the qualities to bolster Hull’s defensive unit.
“I feel I can offer leadership, experience, and Championship know-how. I’m comfortable on the ball, strong in the air, and my pace is something the club values highly."
“We all know how competitive the Championship is. I’m ready to help the team with everything I’ve got.”
Reflecting on his time at West Brom, Ajayi added: “I had a great six years there, but this is a new chapter. I’m hungry, motivated, and ready to prove myself all over again as a Hull City player.”
