Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has expressed his delight after returning to action following a spell on the sidelines due to injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The lanky centre-back recently made his comeback for Hull City in their game against Millwall FC last week after spending close to two months out injured.

Ajayi, who has been working his way back to full fitness, said he is pleased with his progress after completing his second full match since returning to action.

“I am feeling really good. It was my second 90 minutes, so I am getting back into the full swing of things and looking forward to pushing for the rest of the season,” Ajayi said.

The former West Bromwich Albion defender was also in action on Sunday when Hull City faced his former club as he continues to regain full match sharpness.

Ajayi’s return will come as good news for both his club and the Nigeria national football team as the experienced defender aims to maintain fitness ahead of upcoming international engagements.
